Ginger bread Chaos!

So I decided it would be a great idea to make a ginger bread house a few days ago with the kids. Of course it was the kit from superstore but still a little bit of a challenge with a 1 and 3 year old. I told Bailey that we would make it after the afternoon nap and of course they slept a little late. It was just after 4 and we started the ginger bread house. Both of them were hungry since it was almost suppertime and all they wanted to do was eat the candy. I'm sure they probably would have wanted to eat it even if it wasn't almost suppertime but I'll blame it on that for now! I ended up stealing some Halloween candy to finish decorating the house since some of the candy was missing. It all turned out in the end except supper was a BUST!
The masterpeice!!!

Of course this is the morning after we made the house and they both kept bugging me to put them up at the island so they could look at it. Look at it... YEAH RIGHT! First there was 1 candy missing then another.... then Sam would eat one and Bailey didn't think that was fair.... so I said what the heck! Have some candy for breakfast too! I had my coffee while I watched them chow on the ginger bread walk-way. Goodnight everyone!

Valentine Layout

Finally finished my layout with stitching!!! I used some stamps and embossing power & then added some flower gems and hearts to the layout. These valentine postcards were sent from Grandma and Pops. I wanted to do the layout so you can flip them over and read the message on the back if you wanted.

The Grandpa Layout

I've been wanting to do this layout for a very long time and I've finally tackled it. I wanted to find the right papers, embellishments for this special page. For paper I used Coredinations Black Magic, Karen Foster Adhesive Cork Sheet, Stemma - I love grandpa. I used a Creative Memories Memorabilia Pocket for a special coin that her Grandpa gave her. KI Memories journaling, Tim Holtz Ideaology memo pins, shrinky dinks, Kaiser Craft wood flourishes, Versa ink, ribbon & eyelets.

My 3 year old and I were playing around with 'shrinky dinks' and I thought her creations would be a perfect addition to her and her grandpas layout! Note: If you are going to put stickles on the shrinky dinks... do it after you heat it with your heat gun. It pops and kinda blows up a little so not a good choice!

She really is a great person... always cheery and likes to mingle! The picture of all us ladies from the convention is on pg. 20. So exciting to be in the magazine. Next is to get published.... but I guess that means I have to submit something in order to get published. LOL!

It's a numbers workout!

Yesterday I decided to do a 'It's all about numbers workout' with ScrapFIT. In my layout I needed to have the following: 1 piece of cardstock, 2 types of alpha's, 3 different embellies, 4 patterned papers,5 pictures. The deadline for submitting a layout is the end of November, so if anyone cares to join me on this workout I'd love to see what you come up with! There is a prize by 3 Scrappy Boys and it just happens to be Heather's 1st anniversary celebration with 3 Scrappy Boys!

I used textured white cardstock and Tattered Angel Mist to make my own 'wintery' background. I used Color Core Black Magic paper to mat 2 of the pics and a strip of Fancy Pants Christmas Magic for the other 3 pictures. I framed the layout with Harmonie Dans le ciel, and I cut out a snow flake from the other side of the Fancy Pants Christmas Magic paper. For the title I used an unknown patterned paper. For embellies I used Harmonie Mosaic Tiles (love these!), made some snow flakes with cricut then used Stampendous Embossing Powder (Glitter & White) on them, and clear snowflakes by Heidi Swapp. Cut out title Alpha's with cricut and used Minds Eye Rub on letters for date. Used stickles for a little more pop on the layout.

Goodnight everyone!

What can you do with baby wipes??

So my new favorite thing is to try and make my own embellishments. I found the neatest flower embellishment using dried baby wipes and glimmer mist!

First Stop!

Ok so here I thought I had to make like 5 different layouts but I am soo wrong. I am to do one layout with all 5 ingredients from 5 different blogs. So this makes much more sense and I am totally able to finish this! So the blogs involved are: Sassy's Lil' Sketches, Scrap Fit, Crop Suey, Scrap Tiffany, and The Cuttlebug Spot.
Their layout design:

This is what I came up with. Still have to journal but that will be done at a later date. Still trying to force myself to do more journal because I know it is important (says Katharina Doyle). LOL!
I used cricut to do the title and butterflies. I used an svg file from SVG Cuts. Glitter dot paper by Doodlebug Design, journal page by Fancy Pants Designs. So my ingredients were: the layout sketch, 3 of the same thing (brads), get messy with paint or ink (inked edge of journal page and edge of layout), lace (string at top of page... lace just wasn't working for me), and finally some texture or embossing (used cuttlebug to do Love and the carriage - sanded embossed picture). TADAAAA!!!!!

First Blog Hop Crop Thangamagig!

Ok so I am trying out my first crop hop. Not sure if I will be able to do all 5 ingredient (LO) on the crop hop since I have company coming tomorrow which I am super excited about! Anyway I will keep you posted on the outcome! If anything I get some more pages done.

Remembrance Day

Today I told my oldest daughter (3 yrs old) we would craft with my new cuttlebug we bought at the store the day prior. She was SUPER excited! When my youngest, who is 1, went to bed for his morning nap I said we would start. She is now a cuttlebug pro and it didn't take her long to catch on. She helped me make a card to send to a friend and then she went on to make her own cards. I tried to start a page that I was going to stitch by hand and lets just say I didn't get very far on it. That is okay though. It was great to see her get creative and do her own thing with help of course.

My daughter picked out the colors and we went from there. This was my first time scrapbooking with her. Usually I do it while they are napping or sleeping at night.

This is what I was attempting to do while helping my daughter make cards. I didn't get very far but managed to finish it while they had their snack.
